I buy a drum of methanol I guess it is pure methanol.
I use 4 litres methanol per 20 litres used oil

Hello, can you please tell me what concentration has the methanol you use? and if the 90% concentration is also good for the reaction. Cheers !

I just watched it and noticed it isn’t finished.
I dont know how I failed to complete the series, shall do this weekend if possible, sorry.
Fuelite I do not know about.
    50 C
    Cheers.

    1) When you heat the oil, how long do you keep it heated at that temp (>50 or 60 deg F? or C?)?
    2) Is Fuelite the same as methanol?
    3) Is there a part three to this video/ When one washes a 2nd time, is that the usable biodiesel fuel?

    Thanks!!!

An element from a hot water cylinder.
    From my brother .
You can purcghase them from a trades suppy shop you may have to have it speacially modified to plug in.

Only if you have your waste oil from a different places and the quality varies each time.
These measurements I were taught were given after titration results showed little variance.
If the oil from the top 8/tenths is used and the thick grissily sludge disguarded the oil should separate from the dark coloured grunge with no problem.
I have not tried Titration and wish I was taught an easy way to titrate.
    Thanks on the comment

is the tritation necessary? I did not see you do that step.

wots he meant to use then?

  12. craigggy says:

With the methanol I paid $340 for 209 litres
    thats near $1.40 per litre.
    You advised 10%
    Methanol is 20%
Double $1.40 and you get $2.80
    $6.00 minus $2.80 = $3.20
Thats $3.20 better per litre to carry on with methanol.
    Cheers

  13. mk3stargazer says:

blimey that is expensive,i found out in the USA it is called white gas. in the UK it works out to be around 6 Dollars for 4 litres, interesting tho, let me know how you get on

  14. craigggy says:

I have bought one litre of Fuelite from a paint shop cost 9 dollars.
If ten % is the recommended add then this is easy if your really rich.
    I shall try 5% in a 2 3 litre clear container.

thats right. makes bio diesel in fossil fuel containers.

  16. mk3stargazer says:

hi, let me know if you get hold of white spirit, i hav just red that in australia its called naphtha. or shellite, white gas or colemans fuel? cheers

  17. craigggy says:

I am determined to this week.

  18. mk3stargazer says:

interesting, as that is how i did mine until finding out about white spirit! so much easier you must try it!
